Remember that time I honeymooned in Greece?
I still wish we’d stayed.
Shrouded in ancient mythology, surrounded by dazzling coasts and home to proud locals, it’s no wonder Greece continues to be a popular vacation destination for people around the world. Its Mediterranean diet and incredible terrain make this a perfect destination to help you keep in shape, especially if you’re aiming to enjoy some beach days too.

I’m cheating a little this week.
Not Ashley Madison style though… here’s to karma.
I’m cheating by not having a actual strange but good recipe. Vegas and I are in Arizona and I didn’t really do anything that strange food-wise unless you count my salmon scramble in Wednesday’s post. Or maybe my road salad. Perhaps Vegas’ gas station selections.
We did eat some strange food in Scottsdale Wednesday night though! I spent a couple of hours of the drive searching for the best possible food options for dinner when we arrived. I landed on SumoMaya – an Asian-Mexican fusion concept. We were not disappointed!

You know it’s hot when your shoulders sweat.
At least I wipe off my bench at the gym!
If I do cardio, I prefer to do it after I lift so I don’t get too tired. The problem is that it’s a 10 minute jog to the gym, so I feel like I should just add on another 20 and be done with it. Yesterday was one of those days. By the time I arrived at the gym I was burning up and covered in sweat.
Lifting after that was hard at first, but I got into the groove. I felt bad about being so sweaty in the weight section, but hey… it IS a gym. And I am a good citizen of the gym world – I always use the stray to clean off my sweat puddles. Unlike some other people.

I have chicken legs.
I’d skip leg day every time if I could… but I don’t.
In my defense, my legs have made some huge improvements over the past few years. HUGE thanks to my Atlanta trainer for torturing helping me with a great leg workout nearly every Monday for 3 years.
But now I’m on my own in San Diego. I need motivational help… so I turned to clothes. Those Nike Pro shorts I picked up at DICK’s make my quads feel better. (Ok, not really… but I get excited to wear them to the gym.)
My birthday DICK’s Sporting Goods gift card has been well-used. Their layout makes it all-too-easy to find alllll the things. I even got a new sports bra, which is basically unheard of for me. (Side note: this Nike sports bra is the best sports bra I’ve purchased since I got boobs.)

Pancakes are never a bad idea.
Especially when you have a super-ripe banana.
My bananas have two speeds: too green or too brown. How do I miss that window of a perfectly yellow banana? I guess I can’t complain if it results in pancakes!

There’s so much to do in San Diego – it’s overwhelming.
I know… tough problems.
The food here is unreal and we’ve been steadily working our way through my (ever growing) “restaurants to try” list. However, there’s a ton of other things to do that Vegas and I have been neglecting. This weekend we decided it would be playtime! I think both of our stomachs breathed a sigh of relief.
Friday I finally manned up for something I’ve wanted to do since joining the gym in San Diego – I took my first Spin class in years. It wasn’t half bad! That room was like a sauna though. I think I lost 5 lbs in water weight alone!
