The big day has arrived.
Hold me.
At work, we host a 3 day conference every year.  This year’s being today.  It’s been a little nuts (<– understatement) leading up to it… but I am really excited!  Here’s a little bite of what life has looked like the past few days.

There have been early mornings.

Late night bike rides home through the park.

Drinking on the job. (We have a beer fridge.)

Fun snacks.

Delicious caffeine.

Lunches ordered in from MetroFresh – that chicken sweet potato salad was delish!

De-stressing workouts with friends. Complete with sexy concentration faces.

“Fat guy in a little suit” sing-a-longs and posing while conference-clothing shopping.

And a healthy dose of stress draaaaanks.

I’m still in shock it’s finally here. Â It feels marvelous.
Have you ever planned an event?
How do you de-stress?
If I had to plan an event I would definitely be using swears like a comma. Good luck!
So glad it’s not just me. 🙂
Sea salt dark chocolate almonds….er I need those in my life like yesterday!! My favourite way to destress is a night in with good TV and good food..and obvi pyjamas are a must!
Ooh, is that bullet box your lanyards?
Yep! Those chargers were a big hit, btw.
LAUGHING!!!
no drinks here and I ALWAYS use fuck like a comma….
Hahaha – that’s a great point. I say fuck with our without the booze.
I could get on board with the beer fridge at work but unfortunately I don’t do any event planning, I’m not the best under stress though so that’s probably a good thing. Hope everything goes smoothly for you for the conference!
Thankfully we only do it 1x a year… and the beer fridge stay year-round. 😉
Giooooood luck! Hope it goes smoothly Laura, i am sure it will. Will be SUCH a rush after you do it though, makes it all worthwhile. Just make sure you go workout in that adrenaline rush, I am sure you could lift a car with all that pumping through your veins 😛 That salad looks yummy!
I think every office should have beer in the fridge AND a separate wine cooler!
Oh, we have wine too. 😉
Love this! Good luck with your event!
Every other year I help plan a huge alumni dinner/fundraiser. It seriously takes 9 months to plan and I am soooo glad when it is over! 🙂
Thanks! It went really well… but I’m SO glad it’s once a year.
Hope it goes well-try to have some fun too!
It seems like you have a fun job/work place, at least! The stress will be worth it when it all comes together. Good luck! And oh man, your last pic has me drooooling!!
Good luck with the event (I just wrote ‘good lick’……I laughed
Pervert. 😉
Have the best time at the conference!!
you know i used to be a race director.. I know this all too well! It’s nuts!! with a capital N!
i love this industry though ! so many fun things.. friends.. the FOOD.. oh the food.. trying the best things.. new faces! and then once its all over you feel so accomplished. GOod luck with the next events!<3
How did I not know that Blue Diamond has dark chocolate sea salt almonds?? I swear, every time that I found out about a new-to-me flavor I get so excited!!
I know! They need to partner with a yogurt company to make new flavors!
Whew, that sounds exhausting and non stop! Hope all goes well… I’m sure it will. I planned a few events when I was the director of a non-profit and got so nervous before each one!
I’m sure it will go perfectly!
I have planned many an event, and I have built / opened businesses WHILE planning a series of grand opening events – my de-stress looked exactly like this, lots of blow-off-steam workouts and lots of cheersing. dranks.
funny, my RECENT big event? I had two cocktails total that night. whirl. wind. fun.
Oh? You had a recent event? 😉 You were STUNNING!!!
You rock girl – hope it’s going so well!!
beer fridge?!?! like that idea 😉
you’re a rockstar!!
I hope your event goes well!!
Love that picture of you trying on the clothes and posing to “fat guy in a little suit” even though clearly you don’t fit the description!!!
We were cracking up. It can be weird to go up a size… but making fun of it was a great way to lighten the mood.
Stress? What’s that??? LOL! Good luck you’ll get through it!
Right?! LOL! Thank you. 🙂
oh girl!! I hope everything goes great!!!!!
Nope I haven’t planned an event, Laura – Sure hope you enjoy the fruits (and chocolates) of your labor these next 3 days – and hope too, everything goes better than planned! 🙂
Thank you so much! It went off quite well. 🙂
So many pictures! Love it!
Ah yes, the office beer fridge. What makes conference planning bearable 🙂
Hope it all goes great!
Emergems..? WHERE ARE THESE!? They sound EPIC! Can they replace coffee? lol. Ugh the pumpkin bowl looks glorious!! Where are the recipes!? Hope you have a great time and without a doubt you will! Take Care Laura! -Iva
For sure! 3 = 1 cup of coffee. So much tastier that crappy office brews!
Here’s the basic recipe… you can sub stuff in and out I do. 🙂

Good luck. I’m sure it will go fabulousness.
Note: I need to start drinking on the job. I bet that helps.
Even better than being drunk on a plane.
Yummo! Back when I worked in Sydney, my firm held three conferences a year. One was 5 days and in two countries! I couldn’t train at all during the conference, as I had to be there at 6am and didn’t leave til almost midnight. I did, however, eat out of my tupperware in the bathroom while everyone else ate all the conference food. Heck, I really wanted to be a bodybuilder!
Oh man… I can’t imagine. I only made it to the gym on Monday and I totally ate conference food!
<— NO DRINKS & I use FUCK like a comma!
Fuck.
Can we trade places? Amazing! Good luck and have fun!
Seriously… I’m game!
I have never planned an event, but I’m sure it’s INSANE!! If anyone can take on a huge event, though, it’s definitely you! I love your sexy workout face, lol!!
