I got nothin’.
Actually, I feel like I have everything.
This WIAW I ate well. Grinning like a fool.
Read on for my eats, and then check out Jenn’s blog for everyone else’s delicious creations!
Breakfast:
After my morning cocktail, I ate my morning sludge with a mini baked banana muffin.
Mid-Morning Snack:
I mixed my oats with the NEW Quest vanilla milkshake protein. Topped with strawberries. It tasted like cake batter.
Lunch:
Sizzlefish Salmon with strawberries. With red pepper flakes. It’s a thing.
Mid-Afternoon Snack(s):
More Sizzlefish – this time is was leftover scallops tossed in a sauce of pumpkin, salsa, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne. With spicy butternut mac ‘n cheese (recipe coming Friday!) and Brussels.
Dinner:
Once again, dinner was thanks to Garnish & Gather! I pick these up every Monday to cook on Tuesday nights. It’s convenient, and all of the (local!) ingredients all packaged up for a fresh, quick meal.
Tonight I shared the meal with my mom! We had chicken burgers with pecan nut butter, persimmon ketchup and amino acid and vinegar kale chips on local buns. I added rye whiskey to the ketchup. It was a good decision.
Dessert:
Unpictured dark chocolate and whiskey with mamma. 😉

It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week! Are you ready?
What’s your favorite flower?
Do you like kale chips? What’s you flavor do you make the most?
Lisa @ RunWiki says
I need to get on the Sizzlefish band wagon! All of these photos are making me drool.
No I can not believe Thanksgiving is next week, and no I’m not ready! Must get my shopping list together before they run out of free range, organic Tur-Kays! 🙂
Arman @ thebigmansworld says
The amount of seafood you eat in a day (and variety!) I am in love with! Seriously, the fact that you SNACKED on scallops….we need to hang out. STAT.
My favourite flowers are ones you don’t need to water. Or ones which are fake.
Lindsay says
sizzlefish scallops –> HANDS DOWN the best snack ever, food ever! COME BACK! I’ll give you some
Laura says
That cracks me up… it never crossed my mind that scallops are an odd snack. LOL!
Cat says
Pecan nut butter is a thing? WHY HAVEN’T I… Oh and persimmon ketchup? And whisky? Too many of my favourite things here. I’m not really a fan of flowers – but roses are pretty classic and hard not to like. I’d like to think someone who wanted to give me flowers would get me some nut butter instead. That’s how I show love 😉
Laura says
Yes ma’am… and tis a GOOD thing. So good.
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama says
Salmon and strawberries? Gotta try that!
Laura says
I love salmon with fruit – it’s so sweet naturally!

I’m not sure how I feel about that sludge . . . . not sure if I could swallow ; – o On the other hand, can’t wait for the butternut mac and cheese
Laura says
Hahaha! I know… it’s a little “healthy.” Even for me.
Coco (@Got2Run4Me) says
I love Gebera daisies. And sunflowers. And tulips! Guess I’m not too picky~ 😉
Laura says
I LOVE sunflowers! They embody summer for me. 🙂
Dietitian Jess says
The flowers are gorgeous… I’m not a big flower person but I guess I like roses? Can’t wait to see the butternut squash mac and cheese recipe!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
i love putting red pepper flakes, nutritional yeast, and a teeny tiny dash of sea salt on my kale chips!
Kaila @healthyhelperblog! says
Cannot wait for that butternut mac recipe!
Deborah says
ooh I don’t know about that morning sludge 🙂
Heather (Where's the Beach) says
Butternut mac n cheese? Can’t wait for the recipe. YUM. I do love kale chips but I tend to not get them dry enough so they’re more like roasted kale or I burn the crap out of them and they disintegrate. Roses are my favorite flower.
Laura says
That’s typically my problem with kale chips too. These worked out well because I was patient and baked them on a lower temp. Doesn’t happen often!
AwesomelyOZ says
Gimme the whiskey, pass the sludge. That thing looks so foul – Lol. Although, sometimes the most foul things taste the best so no judgies. Who gave you those beautiful flowers?! They’re gorgeous 🙂 Happy Hump Day Laura! -Iva
Laura says
Hahaha! It doesn’t taste the best… but it’s not gag-inducing.
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious says
I should order scallops from Sizzlefish. For some reason, no one carries them anymore and I’m not driving 30 minutes to Whole Foods to get them.
Laura says
I can’t recommend it enough!
Allie says
Beautiful flowers! Gotta love scallops and salmon and strawberries! Alliteration, haha!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
Somebody has an admirer 😉 I love calla lilies – I’m planning for those to be my next tattoo, actually.
Khushboo says
Snacking on scallops?? Oh girl you fancy!! Looks divine! Love me some kale chips, especially with nutritional yeast sprinkled over!
Aubrey says
Looks so good!

White roses. Although tulips are a close second. 🙂

Laura says
Indeed. 🙂

Whiskey and chocolate for dessert, I should have known. Your race looked crazy fun, much like your food always does, such random combinations I feel like I should start taking pages out of your book to make for my weekly eats, as I love my crazy combos too! I hope you’re doing great, although your Instagram photos say you most definitely are! 😉
Laura says
Thanks Jayne!!! Doing well… and you seem to be too! You’re going to Blend again, right???
