I have furniture!
It only took 3 weeks.

When the door closes… open a window!
The pod took THREE WEEKS to get delivered. There were a ton of mishaps and, in the end, the PODS territory manager came through and got it delivered… but I will never, ever use them again.
The movers got my couch through the door window. My stuff arrived (mostly) in one piece. Best of all, my mom and baby sister showed up to help and to feed me lunch.
I haven’t been grocery shopping yet, but my office is FULL of free food. It’s taking all the willpower I have not to eat a bag of Cheetos every day.
Other fun office features include unlimited La Croix and a perfect selfie mirror in the bathroom.
I’m really pumped to buy real food this weekend. For now, here’s my (mostly free) WIAW.
Be sure to link up to Jenn’s WIAW baby at the bottom!
Breakfast:
I made my solo morning cocktail and headed out to work. Being able to walk to work is still a huge bonus, even in the cold.
I had a protein shake at the office. The office fridge selection is not too shabby, right?!
Lunch:
Lunch is brought in to the office 3 days a week. Yesterday was was taco Tuesday so we have a taco bar from a local spot called Bell Street Burritos. It was amazing.
The entire day was punctuated with 434985675598 cans of La Croix. #livingthedream
Dinner:
At home, I basically live off of popcorn, red wine, and frozen dinners. This one wasn’t terrible.
Have I mentioned I can’t wait to grocery shop for real?
(The popcorn and red wine happened later while watching Jessica Jones and typing this.)

Still missing Vegas, but I feel a little more settled and able to enjoy Atlanta than 2 weeks ago. (Sorry I bailed on #WIAW last week.)
Have you seen Jessica Jones? Not usually my style, but I’m addicted.
Do you eat frozen dinners? Which ones do you like? I had an Amy’s tofu scramble the other day that wasn’t bad.
wow hosted protein drinks too? crazy! i’m just trying to get myself to have breakfast still! bought me some yogurt finally so maybe i can do overnight oats for tomorrow. one of my local food bloggers has some awesome indian recipes on her site so i’m hoping to try a few of those healthier ones this month. hope you’re back to your (more normal) eating routine soon!
You should see the snacks – chips, veggie chips, nuts, protein bars, cereal, yogurt, string cheese… literally anything you could want.
Let me know how the Indian recipe turns out! I love Indian food.
Oh wow! I almost used them when I moved from Atlanta to Athens as there was so crazy stuff going on with closing dates and all – but I ended up using another company and now after reading your experience of moving across the country, am so glad I did! Your work’s food ethics are so totally rad! Freaking PP in the fridge???? Back when I worked a 9-5, we got bought out and the new co. didn’t want to give us coffee even – we had to fight for it and they brought coffee machines back with some unknown coffee brand – BTW – your work site isn’t hiring are they? 🙂
Hoping y’all are adjusting and hoping you get to visit that Whole Foods (IG story) soon! Welcome back to the ATL, Laura!
OMG. Be glad you didn’t use them. What a nightmare!
My company IS hiring a ton right now. Let me know if you’re serious. 😉
Glad your pod arrived. Moving seems like a real pain in the ass. Your office food looks pretty darn tasty though. I eat frozen dinners, usually in the form of Pizza.
Pain in the ass is an understatement. LOL!
Umm is your office hiring??!
Yup…
OMG I cannot believe it took that long to get your furniture! You’re going to feel like a normal human very soon. And that lunch delivery 3 times a week? I would consider getting a job just for that!!
I was SO MAD. At least I always had lunch. 100% worth going into an office. The people are pretty cool too. 😉
Omg just reading about your moving adventures stresses me out, I hate moving and am so happy I haven’t had to do it in 5 years. And I would totally be living the frozen meal life until you’re all settled. I’ve been loving Dr. Praeger’s veggie burgers with some leftover sides as a quick meal.
I’m still recovering. LOL!
I forgot about Dr. Praegar!!! I love their burgers. And the spinach bites. Totally picking some up – thanks!
Wow I cannot believe it took 3 weeks to get your stuff! Moving is always so much more stressful and way more work than you ever expect.
Glad you are getting settled! I can’t believe how much food in that office — I’d be in trouble! BTW, son got into Georgia Tech, he hasn’t made his final decision, but it’s in the top 3. We may be meeting up at the Varsity soon 😉
I just emailed you back! Go Jackets!!!!
Yep. I am also never moving again. Or at least, dreading beyond the realm of believability the next time I have to. I’m still traumatized by my own couch experience. Shudder.
Right there with you. I actually told Vegas I just want to buy this place. I’m not kidding.
Your Cheetos willpower is stronger than mine!
I just know if I start I’ll never stop!
Unlimited La Croix is totally the dream! Congrats on the move and the new gig!
HA! It totally is the dream.
I can only do frozen dinners for a few days before I’m totally done. I’m sure you’re past that point. I’d come feed you if I could.
Oh, I was well past it. At least there’s a pretty wide variety of frozen options these days. We’ve come a long way, baby.
OMG I feel ya on the moving. At least you’re in and fed at the office. That would so hard for me to deal with that much food all the time. Although the gluten things makes eating so tricky I guess it probably won’t be an issue.
They’re actually really, really good about making sure there are plenty of allergy-friendly options. And there’s always a vegan option at lunch!
ahh bro! I totally relate. No more moving. But glad you are home!
Until next time… le sigh.
Have you mentioned where you are working? I need to work there! Glad you have your stuff!
LOL! We’re hiring a ton… send me a note if you really are really interested!
Ugh, this makes me really excited to move in a few years. I never hear ANYTHING good about cross country moves.
Also, I love that your work has Angry Orchard in there 😀
We have beers every Friday! And we’re sensitive to allergies. It’s like work heaven. 🙂
