Friday.
That day of the week where you can make a final push to get your work done and start Monday with a clean inbox. Your last chance to be productive for the week. Or you should screw around on the internet reading surveys like this.
Everyone seems do have done this Last Chance survey this week. I think the first place I saw it was on Brittany’s blog. I’m joining the party today!
Last food you ate?
A post-workout protein shake. Butternut-Cherry Bomb. I started making this 2 years ago and it remains on of my favorites.
Last beverage you drank?
Water. I drink 120 oz a day. Constant peeing.
Last workout?
Leg day! It was my FIRST workout post-competition (except for some walk/runs). I was so thrilled to get back in the gym that I didn’t complain that it was legs. Next competition is March!
Last thing you pinned?
Alexandra’s Spunky Monkey Pumpkin Pie. Protein, peanut flour, and pumpkin. Does it get any better?
Last text message you sent?
A text to my trainer complaining that I now have to take 2 weekly rest days. Lame.
Last blog you visited?
Some random blog while in search of a homemade cottage cheese recipe.
Last tweet you sent?
A reminder to ever my NuttZo giveaway!
Last place you visited?
The ATM. I walked through the drive thru on my way back from the gym. Only slightly concerned I was going to get mugged.
Last time you did ab work?
Wednesday. It was my last “off-plan” day. Normally I’m not allowed to do much ab work, so before I got my new training plan I planked. Am I really that neurotic?
Last show you watched?
Grey’s Anatomy is on as I’m drafting this post. It’s a half-assed effort at watching… I’m paying more attention to writing this.
Last thing you baked?
Mama Pea’s Pop Tarts. Last Friday I promised I’d make the post-competition. So glad I did. Instead of her strawberry filling, I made a pumpkin-cinnamon center.
What is the last thing you Instagramed?
My new Harbinger weightlifting gloves. A little post-competition treat to myself!
Last item on your to-do list today?
Review an Excel model in advance of a client call. It’s as much fun as it sounds.
Do you like sprints, or do you like steady state better?
If I have to be on a treadmill, sprints. Outside I like to steady run and watch the scenery.
Do you need coffee to get going in the morning?
No. I like my morning cocktail (apple cider vinegar and FitMixer Aminos), but I do prefer to have a cup after lunch to warm up (why must they keep it so cold in my office?!) and get me through the afternoon.
***
Don’t forget to enter to win a jar of NuttZo nut butter! Click here to enter. Contest ends Tuesday at midnight!
The end of the day can’t get here fast enough because Allie and Heather are coming to spend the weekend with me!!! So. Excited.
Pick one (or 2 or 3…) and share your answers!
Do the powers that be keep your office at arctic temps?
Tara @ Sweat like a Pig says
Yay for two rest days! You will learn to love it 😉
Holly says
I drink acv in the mornings too, but I do it for my skin, as it fights folliculitis. But then I have coffee.
The last place I visited was le 15 gourmand, a restaurant where I’m looking to do an internship in the spring.
The temperatures at the université are pretty warm. Which is a nice change from the last university I attended which was so arctic me and my fellow students sat in class with hats, gloves, jackets and scarves on. My friend even put money down for a space heater that she brought to class.
Laura says
I do notice it helps my skin. I use it as a toner at night as well.
Did the university not have heat?! that’s insane. I wouldn’t be able to concentrate.
Miz says
LAST THING I THOUGHT? dang your legs rock.
Alexandra says
BAHAHAH!!!!! Best. comment. ever. 😀
Is it bad I want to go swimming in that smoothie…..?
Laura says
LOL! Thank you!
You would have a hard time swimming in that thickness, but it would be fun to try. 🙂
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama says
Ditto to what Miz said above! 🙂
Love Mama Peas’s Pop Tarts. I did a fresh strawberry filling. Yum!
janet @ the taste space says
Good way to look at the end of the week. 🙂
Khushboo says
Those pop tarts look SO legit…I was so impressed when I saw your instagram! Trust me you will grow to love 2 rest days a week…at least your legs will be spared :)! As for the last day to be productive–> one of the only pros of working half days on Saturdays is that it gives me time to get on top of things for the week ahead, which means Mondays are a breeze!
Laura says
They actually weren’t hard to make! You just have to keep the dough cold.
Good luck being productive today. 🙂
Lee says
I love cinnamon pop tarts. Well, back in the day, I did. I haven’t had one for probably 15 years.
Fran@BCDC says
Last thing I ate was a soft pretzel last night. I didn’t need it, but I live by the “feed a cold, starve a fever” rule. I Needed it!
I don’t Need coffee in the morning, but I prefer to have it. It’s my treat to myself.
Have a great day, Laura and enjoy your weekend!!
Laura says
I LOVE soft pretzels!
Life's a Bowl says
Morning mocktail? You rebel! And I totally wanna make that protein, peanut butter, pumpkin cake/bar/bread ASAP, yum!!!
Laura says
There’s something about a cocktail first thing. 😉
Lindsay's List says
oh man! hug heather for me – jealous!!
Laura says
Done! xo
Parita says
I did a tabata workout yesterday that left me feeling just a little tired!! It was a good one.
And another competition?! Awesome!
Heather (Where's the Beach) says
I need some new lifting gloves. I mean, I only have 3 pair LOL. I love new fit gear though. As for steady state vs sprints. If I have to do the dreadmill, it’s all about intervals. Outside, unless I’m doing a specific speed workout, it’s mostly steady state. My last workout was yoga after a run.
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I did tabata this morning and eating my protein packed oats right now!
Have a great weekend with the ladies! That should be fun!
Laura says
I wish you could come hang!!!
Kierston says
You just reminded me that I got new pink lifting gloves! Can’t wait to test them out on Monday! 🙂
Amanda @ Romancing the Unusual says
I just pinned that pumpkin pie recipe, too. It’s like heaven in pie form!
Amanda @ .running with spoons. says
Constant peeing – yessssss. Drives me nuts, especially in the middle of the night. 80% of the time, water would be the last drink that I have, 15% it’s tea, and the other 5 would probably be coffee. I wouldn’t say that I need it to get going in the mornings, but I do really love the taste so I drink it anyways 😀
Laura says
Yes! I feel like an 80 year old because I can’t sleep through the night.
Brittany @ Delights and Delectables says
I’m not going to lie… I’m a wee bit jealous of your meetup! 😉 I miss you girls!
I’m so glad you did the survey!! LOVE IT!
Last workout: chest and tris. Today is my leg day. woof.
Laura says
We wish you were here!!!
Happy Squatterday. 🙂
Calee (@chimes) — life + running says
I saw that Heather did this survey today. Even though you’re miles apart, it’s like you’re still connected. 😉 I am snagging this one for my use as well too.
Happy Friday! And I’m snagging that pumpkin pie recipe too.
Laura says
I know! I laughed when that was in my reader.
Mattie @ comfy & confident says
Fun survey! You are getting so strong with all these fitness competition. I am kind of envious!
Laura says
Thank you!!! It’s a lot of fun – definitely a confidence builder.
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
I’m enjoying the fact that everyone is doing this survey. Maybe I’ll actually do it, too. Maybe.
I am sitting here in my fleece, drinking tea because I am so flippin’ cold right now. I am always cold though so I don’t know if it is just me or if it really is cold in the building. I can see the sun shining outside, so I have hope for feeling warm when I finally exit the building. One place that is warm is the bathroom. Good thing I, too, drink an excessive amount of water and have to go there a lot.
Laura says
All the cool kids are doing it. 😉
I used to go to the bathroom and run my hands under the warm water to heat up at work. Love a warm bathroom.
Ed says
I was really confused by the vitamex money shot for a second there, i really didnt know what i was looking at…i am not sure i should share with everyone what i thought it was at first lol
Laura says
LOL! I thought about that when I was posting it.
Heather @ Better With Veggies says
I did this one today too – I like surveys on Fridays. 🙂
And I need weightlifting gloves – which ones did you buy? I don’t feel like doing research. 😉

Kelly@Chow-Daily says
My office is absolutely frigid and I cannot stand it! Those homemade pop-tarts look delicious. Last text message I sent was to my friend “Which happy hour are we going to tonight?”, last thing I ate- snacking on some almonds as we speak, last thing I baked were some pumpkin spice cookies for my friend’s birthday.
Laura says
Haha – love your last text. How was happy hour?
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
I NEED Mama Pea’s poptarts!! They look so good! And so does that spunky monkey pie.
I’m so jealous of you weirdos hanging out this weekend- but at least US weirdos will be hanging out the following one!!!
HAVE FUN!!!
Laura says
Less than a week to go!!!!
Laura says
Enjoy your weekend with friends! I love Mama Pea… glad to hear the pop tarts are worth the effort, I haven’t given them a try yet. Still planning to enter the giveaway, heading over now!
Laura says
Highly recommended. Just make sure you keep the dough cold while you’re topping your tarts!
Alex @ therunwithin says
that monkey pie I want so much. I saw that post and was drooling. I fail at baking so I am also impressed by those poptarts. have a good friday night.
Jody - Fit at 54 says
OMG – been away from the computer a lot so I am late to the game! Last workout was yesterday – legs/back. Today was a rest day AND hair appt – yahoo!!!
Last show watched, the news while I type away here… 😉
I love your answers AND that you find time to write all your posts! 🙂
CCU says
Already up and at it my friend, you rock 😀
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Jessie says
I CANNOT believe I hadn’t heard of that butternut squash/cherry smoothie. Oh girl, it sounds delicious!!!
Laura says
It’s SO good! I need to go through and look at my old recipes – I forget about old ideas.
Zanj says
How come you’re not normally supposed to do much ab work? PS. You’re such an inspiration!! Thank you 🙂
Laura says
Most ab work grows the muscle and makes the abs wider. For competitions, the look is to have a tiny waist and broader shoulders/hips to get the “V.”
julie says
i’m taking 2-3 rest days now too! i thiiiink i’m going to have a hate/love relationship with it hahah
Laura says
Same here – I get restless!
Sable@SquatLikeALady says
Laura!!! I have missed you during my blog hideout haha. I am so pissed I missed tweeting you during/right before your show! Off to read the recap now <3
Laura says
I’ve missed you too! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
purelytwins says
last thing I instagrammed my was me drinking my kombucha 🙂
saw this last survey on another blog, love the idea, just might have to do it too
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli says
Homemade cottage cheese!!!!!
I want that pumpkin pie…which I just told you since you’re sitting on the couch next to me! …yup, I’mma dork! 😉
I love you and you are the best hostest EVER!! I don’t want to leave tomorrow! 🙁
Laura says
Can you come back now?
Paula@Paula's Plate says
Yum! I just pinned that pumpkin pie recipe, too! It looks awesome!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I want to make Alexandra’s pumpkin pie too! I’ll have to make it with coconut flour instead of peanut flour, but I bet it will still taste awesome!
Haha and I can totally relate about constantly peeing. The worst is when I have to go at 4:30 am and I can’t get back to sleep after that, which has been happening a lot lately. Ugh! 😛
Laura says
Let me know how that works! I bet the texture would be awesome.
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets says
The last show I watched was also Grey’s, but I watched the past three episodes all at once. I was a little behind….oops. Yeah, not sorry. I hope you had a great weekend.
Joanna says
Butternut squash cherry bomb smoothie? I NEED that! I’ve been craving a cherry smoothie. And I’ve never had butternut squash before (not really a squash fan) and I’ve been wanting to just get it over with and trying it. This smoothie sounds like JUST the thing 🙂
Laura says
It is in my top 5. I’d be hard pressed to choose between that and the carrot cake, oatmeal cookie, and cherry-ginger. Definitely a good starting place to trying squash again… or you could use sweet potato!
