I swear this is my last furniture construction post.
At least I hope. Until the next move.
In the past 2 weeks, I have constructed a giant bed with two attached nightstands and 6 drawers, two pantry shelves, a 6-drawer dresser, a nightstand, and a bed frame.
Have a mentioned I’m not especially handy? Or at least I tried to tell Vegas I wasn’t…
Vegas was here last weekend. After seeing all my handiwork, I don’t think I’m going to get out of home projects ever again. Oops.
On to the #WIAW food. Which is still eaten mostly at work. This is probably going to be an ongoing trend. At least until Vegas is here permanently.
Be sure to link up to Jenn’s WIAW baby at the bottom!
Breakfast:
I made my solo morning cocktail and headed out to work as usual. I did consider making eggs but opted to hit snooze one more time and start resurrecting my morning pull-ups instead.
When I got to work, I had a coffee and an off-brand Quest bar. I’m kind of in love with these.
Lunch:
The first 3 days of the week we have catered lunches at work. This was the best so far – Indian food! I got a little of everything and then went back for seconds of everything. Round 2 was actually bigger than round one!
Snack:
String cheese. Again. I figure you won’t really need a picture of that. 😉
Dinner:
Dinner was brinner. Scrambled eggs with veggies and nutritional yeast. Extra sriracha. Quick and easy so I could get started on the shelves!

I have major goals of making an actual recipe this weekend. Or at least getting my hair cut.
Have you ever had the off-brand Quest bars?
Do you like Indian food? I don’t know why I don’t eat it more.
Off brand Quest bar?! Wow, totally going to try and find those when I got to Costco this weekend. SO stoked!
Did you try them? I’m obsessed.
Im totally impressed by your furniture construction! Your work lunches sure do look amazing! I have only had Indian food once but I really liked it.
Indian food is one of my favorites! I don’t get it a lot though because Vegas can’t stand curry.
Glad you are settling in. I can’t wait to stop moving and settle down…we’ll see how long that lasts l when it does. I was in a brinner mode last week too. Forgot about how easy and good it was at the end of a long day.
I feel the same way! I’m so ready for us to buy a house we can stay in. Forever. LOL!
Damn!!! I’m about to hire you! Someone dared mention I buy something from IKEA last weekend and I laughed in their face. I mean, you have to actually assemble that stuff??? What??
Nice work!!! You should be proud of yourself.
I won’t venture to IKEA. That place is a black hole! Most of this stuff came from Target or Overstock. They were pretty good with the instructions!
I love Indian food and I hate that my husband doesn’t. Every time he’s gone for the night I always order it, lol.
I’m in the same boat! Vegas can’t stand it.
Majorly impressed over here. But yeah you’ve dug yourself a little hole now haven’t you. Now that you’ve unleashed these *major* talents of yours to Vegas and all of us – you’re going to be signed up for all the handy fixings! Hey – maybe a new side business?
I’m curious to see what happens in the last 2 days at work when there isn’t lunch brought in. Do people know what to do with themselves? I’d feel so abandoned and lost, after being used to all that luxury. Kirkland brand…. man…. they do good don’t they.
Vegas is already teasing me about it. LOL! Oh well. I really don’t mind doing stuff like that. It’s kind of fun!
The two days we don’t have lunch catered… my team usually orders is anyway. LOL! So spoiled.
I feel like I’ve been eating so many of my meals at work these days. Just goes with the territory I think! Congrats on your handy skills. I put together a gas grill by myself last summer and I was so impressed with myself I talked about it for a week. Those things are so complicated!
I bet a grill would be tough! I’d totally be bragging about that too!
I’ve never had the off brand Quest bars, but that one looks good! 🙂
I have a quick question Laura; I know this might be kind of a nuisance? For some reason when I try to add my link to the linkup it won’t work even though it has the backlink. It might have to do with me switching domains a few weeks ago, but my lack of technical ability can’t figure it out. :'(
Would you be able to add it manually? If that’s too much trouble, it’s A-ok! 🙂
Here the link is:

I don’t know why the linky thing never likes you! I’ll save you any time! 🙂
Good for you for getting all that done! Makin’ it happen! 😉 I think I would eat sooo much if food was catered at work…especially Indian food! Yum! I’m curious, do they have alternative options, like vegan and gluten-free?
They are REALLY good about options. Everything is clearly labeled for food allergies, and there are always vegan
and GF options. Like today – we had fajitas and they provided both corn and flour tortillas.
Scrambled eggs with nooch is the best. So glad you got to see Vegas!!
I remember this one time in my old apartment, I ordered two desk chairs, super simple chairs… No biggie. They came… SO I HAD TO BUILD THEM. Say what now?! I don’t do such things… BUT I HAD TO cause there was no Landon in my life at that time. And I remember I “installed” the legs backwards 4 times… Then I called the company and said they sent me the WRONG LEGS and no screws. And when I hung up the phone… Yep, I flipped the fucking leg around and BAM – it worked. Oh and I found the screws too.
A few days later I got some legs and screws at the front door, and they sat at my front door for 5 years. LMFAO!
5 YEARS?! The thing that surprises me most about that is that no one stole them. LOL!
Your Indian food lunch looks yummy!
Why’d you have to get all new furniture for the new place? Stuff in the last place was getting old, or didn’t fit well in your new place?
We didn’t get all new stuff, but we sold most of the guest room when we left because it was just a weird mishmash of stuff we didn’t really like.
I choose Indian food for my birthday meal. It’s one of my favorites. Licks lips.
You’re a good chooser.
I live for Indian food!
I have been building furniture (well, assembling furniture) for what feels like forever. I don’t mind it at all, but Alex HATES IT. HATES IT. I don’t think there is much worse that you can do to him than make him build something, particularly if it is from IKEA.
IKEA is the WORST with their instructions! I don’t blame him at all for that!
Love love love indian food. Especially vegetarian indian food, that’s where the real hidden gems lie!
I bet that first nights sleep once your bed was reconstructed was heaven!
This was shockingly good catered Indian food. It’s from a local restaurant and they nailed it!
And yes, having a bed again was amazing.
Yay, you are getting all moved in, this is so exciting and such an adventure. when will Vegas move, miss her? So happy she popped in for the weekend, I know you were happy too. I think it’s super cool that your job caters lunch for you guys, I love Indian food but I usually eat alone and its nearly impossible eat Indian alone lol.
I miss her like WHOA! She’ll be here when she gets a job… whomp whomp.
