I’m high on my #MoveHappy this week!
I’m in Colorado… what were you thinking?
This week I get to do my #MoveHappy challenge with Heather in Colorado! In case you missed it, Heather and I are co-hosting a challenge to have FUN with fitness in July. You can read the details here. We have a lots of prizes and 5 chances to win some of our favorite fitness-related items. Last week’s prize was announced on Heather’s blog, and this week I have the goods again!
First let’s talk about how awesome is is to be here for Heather’s 2nd bikini competition! She decided to start competing almost a year ago this week when we were on vacation in Napa. I told her if she did, I’d come to Colorado and do a competition with her… this time she’s competing in a different organization and I’m taking a year off, so I came to spectate. Doesn’t she look great?
We celebrated a great show with lot of tasty food at Session Kitchen. The server was amazing – she even brought out a special dessert for Heather! Chocolate Chip Blondie S’mores with streusel sucre and White Russian gelato.

That’s my life’s mantra.
Why stop at 10 when you can do 11? Or 30 when you can be 31. If I can better myself without damaging myself, I’m going to go for it. Today I’m bring back Work It Out to focus on endurance.

Long weekends make me happy.
We really should implement a 2-day work week, 5 day weekend policy.
This weekend was full of happy movement. Atlanta is home to the world’s largest 10K, the Peachtree Roadrace. It’s held every year on the 4th. This is my 5th race; I’ve only missed one since 2008! I haven’t been running much, but my goal was to finish in under an hour. I rolled out of bed early Friday morning and took the train to the start line.
I debated going to the convention in town… but nah.

I’m a big dill.
In my head.
Really though. I posted the pic below on Instagram heading into leg day on Monday, but there’s a reason other than humor. Legs days with my trainer always kick my butt. He’s brutal… in a good way though. One of the reasons I love training with him is that he pushes me to do more than I even imagine to be possible.
When I walk into a session with him, I psych myself UP. So much of lifting is mental. If you tell yourself you can and approach the weights with confidence, you’ll be amazed by what you can do. That’s also a good example of how I #MoveHappy. 😉

When I saw this video this weekend, I stopped in my tracks. How many times in your life that you heard someone refer to “running like a girl” or “throwing like a girl”? How many times have you SAID it? I’m know I’m guilty.

The secret is the challenge I teased last week! I was so excited when Heather asked me to partner with her on this 2nd Edition of the #MoveHappy Challenge! She wanted to bring it back to celebrate an exciting change on her blog (that part is still a secret… for now!). It’s going to be awesome, just like this challenge. So…
It’s been 6 months since her original challenge and the idea is to encourage you to keep it up all year long. This time it’s even bigger!
