You may have noticed I didn’t post anything Monday.
Or you may not have noticed…
This weekend we were in Arizona playing in a softball tournament. By the time we got home Sunday night, we went straight to bed!
We didn’t win… but everyone played hard! And we brought the basics:

I always look forward to spring.
Except the pollen. Who knew San Diego had pollen?!
Spring food is the best. Don’t get me wrong, I love a roasted winter squash and the orange glow that comes with it. The lighter, fresh spring fare has my heart though.
Today’s #strangebutgood is a round up of some of my favorite spring recipes. Some stranger than others. All good. In my not-so-humble opinion.

Breaking in a new oven is the best.
Not to be confused with breaking… or burning… a oven.
We’re back in business this week with a new oven installed. No thanks to GE or Home Depot. You don’t realize how much not having an oven can cramp your style!
Our new oven is gorgeous. It’s even blue inside! Just look at the LG beauty compared to the GE POS model (♫ to the left, to the left… ♪):

I spoke too soon.
One day I’ll learn to knock on wood or something.
Last week I said we were getting to some form of normalcy. HA! Till the flaming oven happened… so here we are with a disheveled kitchen, no oven, and some random food. We also have NO groceries since we were supposed to have gone to the farmer’s market Sunday. Fires really are inconvenient…

We’re finally getting some normalcy post-move.
The term “normal” is used loosely for us.
The boxes are slowly disappearing. Things have places on shelves. There are curtains in the bedroom and dining room (the other rooms are another story). We joined a gym… I joined a second gym. We have groceries and are eating at home *almost* each week day. And we have redneck Christmas lights strung up on the cabana.

WIAW is on the move again this week!
Because I haven’t had enough moving…
Here’s the deal. What I Ate Wednesday has been jumping around to give mamma Jenn a break. She’s entrusted me this week with hosting duties (which may be a sign she’s taken up a crack habit… is rehab where she’s disappeared to?!).
Since I’m sooooo known for sugar coating things, I’m going to come out and say that the link up got a bit out of control and Jenny from the block was suffering from exhaustion. WIAW was meant to just be a day of eats. Don’t be linking shit from 5 weeks ago, everything you ate for the past 3 weeks, or some unrelated giveaway you’re trying to get more traffic for. Follow the rules and don’t be greedy. In short, don’t be a dick.

Moving is exhausting.
I’m mentally tired.
Organizing, cleaning, and decorating are not my favorite things. Doing that while working and dealing with annoying shit that comes with closing on the sale of my condo has left me grouchy. People commenting on my lack of cooking gets me fired up. We just got a working oven and found time to grocery shop. If I want to have some beers, then I will. Jeeeeeeesus.
This isn’t a blogger rant. These are Facebook friends. I’ve actually been loving going out in our new neighborhood and trying out new things workout-wise. I’ve taken up boxing and tried out jiu jitsu. I’ve been running more. Ending the day jogging back home to Vegas with this view makes me incredibly happy:
