It’s hard to believe it’s all over!
Christmas seems to have flown by. While I’m always ready for the rush to be over, it’s a little sad too. I love the lights and anticipation… and the baking. 🙂
I have to go out of town unexpectedly this morning, so today’s is a photo recap. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, or Merry Un-Affiliated Holiday Weekend!

The fitness recap is a day late too… but I managed to NOT take a day off this week. Saturday was a little light, but I still got moving. That’s sometimes the hardest part this time of year – making the time for yourself to get out to do even a little fitness. Once I do it I’m so happy I did. It’s true what they say – you never regret a workout!
Two things to highlight:
- I’m still digging Body Rock – it’s a great resource when you only have a few minutes to squeeze in a workout
- I went running for the first time in a month – the worst part about not running is how very hard it is to get back out there. My legs felt like sandbags. I won’t be taking that much time off again!
Workout Recap (12/19 – 12/26)
- Monday – P90X Biceps/Back, 100 push-ups
- Tuesday – This BodyRock, Kickboxing, Legs
- Wednesday – P90X Triceps/Chest
- Thursday – This BodyRock (again), 4.5 mile run, 100 push-ups
- Friday – Kickboxing, Elliptical
- Saturday – All 3 of these BodyRocks, 100 push-ups
- Sunday – This BodyRock (again), P90X Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X
- Monday – TRX suspension class, 100 push-ups

Later this week I’m going to share Christmas brunch and the details on that cake… it was insane. I wish I could take credit for that recipe!
What was the best present you received?
Are you a little relieved the madness is over? Maybe just a little sad too?
Errign says
The madness is just beginning for me at work blahhhhhhh! Happy Holidays 🙂
Shannon from Healthiful Balance says
Bacon spread? Haha, thats so awesome! 😀
Yes! I’m relieved all the madness is over but have come down with the post Christmas blues too!
Laura says
It was pretty amazing – my mom rubbed chicken in it for Christmas dinner.
Lee says
I am sort of sad that it’s all over. January and February are my least favorite months. There’s just nothing exciting about them. At least it’ll start to get warm again in March.
Laura says
There’s Valentine’s Day… I get a little excited over the heart-shaped Reeses. 😉
Tiff @ Love Sweat & Beers says
I was soooooo not ready to get back to work today. Is it acceptable for me to pout and stomp my feet like a small child because Christmas is over? No? Well I really really really want to – though I don’t think my boss would like it very much.
Congrats on the great cake. I’m sure it was fabulous.
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
Am I the only one that is kind of happy it’s over? I’m ready for my normal routine!
Alayna @ Thyme Bombe says
You are gonna love that stand mixer, life changing! I’m so glad this madness is over. Time to bundle up and get through the worst part of the year until spring comes.
Laura says
I cannot wait to use it. I’m taking suggestions for things to try!
sportsglutton says
Wait…what is this bacon spread thing I see and how come I was unaware of it?
Laura says
And you call yourself a glutton!
Hayley @ Oat Couture says
Hahaha the egg nog photo! 🙂 Love it! My entire Christmas holiday was spent in that position with either a large glass of wine or gin. We actually spent Christmas so hungover that we ate pizza! :O So naturally I have put my foot down and demanded a do over. Christmas day is now tomorrow in the Warnes / Dimech household. If I haven’t eaten a massive bird then it’s not christmas, simple as that! 🙂 One day of the year I don’t worry about my meat intake! Been following along all of your christmas posts btw and although I didn’t comment those salted biscoff cookies and your christmas pesto had me drooling!!! Hope you had a lovely christmas anyway love! Oh, and well done on getting all those workouts in, awesome!!! 🙂
Laura says
LOL! Thankfully that was my Christmas, so I had a solid dinner base in me already.
I hope yours was a great one. It certainly sounds like it! One day we will have to share a wine or two. 🙂
Tina @ Best Body Fitness says
Whew! You kicked butt with workouts last week. And…I’m going to impatiently await that recipe.
Laura says
Thank you! It’s coming as soon as I can stay home long enough to download pics. My goal is Thursday!
Christin@purplebirdblog says
BACON SPREAD?! Do want! 😉 Have a safe trip, lady! xo
Grubarazzi (@Grubarazzi) says
Dude…dude! Did I see that right? Bacon spread… ACK!
Laura says
You know it! I have to credit my mom with that find. Score one for mamma!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Can’t wait for that recipe!
Stephanie @ Eat. Drink. Love. says

Tiffany says
